Pacific Northwest Ballet

Pacific Northwest Ballet

Pacific Northwest Ballet, one of the largest and most highly regarded ballet companies in the United States, was founded in 1972. In July 2005, Peter Boal became its Artistic Director, succeeding Kent Stowell and Francia Russell who were the directors of PNB since 1977. The company of 50 dancers presents more than 100 performances each year of full-length and mixed repertory ballets at the sumptuous Marion Oliver McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center.

Performing works by some of the world's most beloved choreographers, such as George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Jerome Robbins and Ulysses Dove, Pacific Northwest Ballet also stages work by some of the most innovative choreographers working today. Whether it's the holiday classic Nutcracker (with set designs by beloved children's book author Maurice Sendak), luminous classics like Giselle and A Midsummer Night's Dream, or smaller contemporary pieces, PNB is on the forefront of what ballet is and can be.
