ACT Theatre

ACT Theatre

ACT has been finding, creating and sharing contemporary theater with audiences since 1965. ACT made history as the first theatre in Seattle dedicated to producing contemporary plays. The organization is still making history as one of the most welcoming development houses for new plays in the Puget Sound region. With multiple stages and a rich diversity of work, ACT keeps audiences intimately involved with live theater.

Believing in the theater of the moment, ACT productions present contemporary struggles, issues, ideas, and ways of being. They seek to create a conversation with its work and its seasons, reaching for something broad and deep and connective. Whether they stage comedies or dramas, philosophical treatises or music-rich presentations, ACT's mainstage productions are always thought-provoking and always on the cutting edge of contemporary classics.
